Electro-Acupuncture

A type of modified acupuncture treatment that uses two needles. Its main goal is to stimulate the acupuncture points with an electric current. It helps to promote the circulation of Qi and to speed up the healing process.

Motor-point Acupuncture

Tui-na

This is also known as skin scraping, spooning or coining. It involves application of pressure by scraping the skin with a massage tool. It is notable for treating discomfort and tension from musculoskeletal pain such as back pain, neck and shoulder pain.

Pretty good RMT (registered massage therapy) experience. They do direct billing to 1 provider. Location can be a bit hard to find at first. Can park in the underground parking lot. When you walk back up the parking lot ramp, Evergreen is on the right past the 504 sign.

Suji Hong, the acupuncturist, is the best I’ve ever known. I had foot injuries that lasted for a couple of months, but after receiving three sessions of needle treatments from her, the pain is gone! She is very professional and caring, and she pinpoints the exact areas where I have issues. If you are looking for a trustworthy acupuncturist in town, I would highly recommend her :)

Is Acupuncture Safe?

It is essential that you have chosen a licensed acupuncturist. With them, you are definitely on the safe hands and will be given the right treatment. They are trained and highly skilled to provide an ideal treatment based on your condition.

As mentioned earlier, acupuncture is very safe, you may just experience some occasional bruise.

The whole process is being called as a painless process, but the degree of pain varies from person to person. Most patients reported that there was little or very little pain. It is like the pain you feel when you pluck your hair. The other thing to note is that the treatment as a whole also depends on the expertise of the acupuncturist. It should be understood that it may not provide instant relief from the disease.

In order to know if you are qualified a thorough assessment is needed to be done. Also, it is done to determine if the modality fits your health condition. Acupuncture is not recommended for pregnant or if you are hemophiliac. It is also essential to inform our Acupuncturist in case if you are taking any anti-coagulant medication.

It is highly recommended to avoid drinking alcohol or taking any sedatives for about 4 hours before your acupuncture session. Also, make sure that you’ll not come on an empty stomach, but it is advised not to eat too much.

You must avoid taking alcohol, cigarettes and caffeinated product. It is also recommended to eat just the right amount of food and not too much.
