Why Sunday Appointments Make a Difference
Finding time for self-care during a busy work week is one of the most common reasons people put off getting the treatment they need. Sunday appointments remove that barrier entirely. With no work deadlines looming and more space in the day, a Sunday session gives you the time to arrive without rushing, fully engage in your treatment, and genuinely rest and recover afterward.
Both registered massage therapy and manual osteopathy offer real, lasting benefits when received consistently. Massage therapy helps to relieve muscle tension, reduce stress hormones, improve circulation, and address chronic pain at its source. Manual osteopathy takes a whole-body perspective, identifying restrictions and imbalances in the musculoskeletal system and working to restore proper function — often with significant improvements in pain, posture, mobility, and overall well-being.
Together, these two modalities complement each other beautifully. Whether you’re dealing with a longstanding injury, managing the physical toll of a desk job, recovering from an active weekend, or simply looking for a way to invest in your long-term health, Sunday sessions with Agne and Koshambi offer exactly the kind of expert, hands-on care that makes a real difference.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between registered massage therapy and manual osteopathy? Registered massage therapy (RMT) focuses primarily on the muscles and soft tissues of the body, using hands-on techniques to relieve tension, reduce pain, and improve circulation. Manual osteopathy takes a broader, whole-body approach — assessing and treating not just muscles, but also the joints, fascia, and nervous system to restore overall structural balance and function. While both are highly effective on their own, they complement each other well, and some patients choose to incorporate both into their care plan depending on their needs.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to book with Agne or Koshambi? No referral is needed. Both Agne and Koshambi accept self-referred patients, so you can book directly online at your convenience. That said, if your extended health benefits plan requires a referral for coverage purposes, we recommend checking with your insurer beforehand.
Are these services covered by extended health insurance? Registered massage therapy with Agne is covered under most extended health benefit plans in Canada that include RMT coverage. Manual osteopathy with Koshambi may also be covered depending on your plan, as many insurers in British Columbia now recognise manual osteopathy as an eligible service. We recommend contacting your benefits provider to confirm your coverage details before your appointment.
What should I expect during my first appointment? For your first visit with either practitioner, you can expect a brief health intake and assessment at the start of your session. This allows your therapist to understand your health history, any current concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of your treatment. From there, they’ll tailor the session to your specific needs. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and arriving a few minutes early so you’re not rushed getting settled.
How often should I come in for the best results? This varies from person to person depending on your goals and the condition being treated. For acute concerns or injury recovery, more frequent visits in the early stages are often recommended. For general maintenance, stress management, or preventative care, many clients find that coming in every two to four weeks works well. Both Agne and Koshambi are happy to discuss a treatment plan that makes sense for your body and your schedule during your appointment.
Is it safe to receive both massage therapy and manual osteopathy on the same day? In most cases, yes — however, it depends on the individual and the nature of the treatments being performed. If you’re considering booking both services in a single visit, we’d encourage you to reach out to us at 604-546-7777 or langleycity@evergreenclinic.ca so we can help you plan the best approach for your specific situation.
How long are the Sunday sessions? Session lengths vary depending on the treatment and your individual needs. Massage therapy appointments with Agne are typically available in 45-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute increments, while manual osteopathy sessions with Koshambi are generally 45 to 60 minutes. You can select your preferred session length when booking online, and if you’re unsure what’s right for you, feel free to call us and we’ll be happy to help.
I’ve never tried manual osteopathy before — is it painful? Manual osteopathy is generally a gentle, non-invasive therapy. Most patients find their sessions quite comfortable, and Koshambi always works within your comfort level. Some people experience mild soreness in the treated area for a day or two following their first session, which is a normal response as the body begins to adjust and heal. If you have any concerns before your appointment, Koshambi will take the time to walk you through exactly what to expect.
Can I book a Sunday appointment if I’m pregnant? Both massage therapy and manual osteopathy can be beneficial during pregnancy when performed by a qualified practitioner who is informed of your condition. Please let us know at the time of booking that you are pregnant so your therapist can modify the treatment accordingly and ensure your comfort and safety throughout the session. If you have any specific concerns or a high-risk pregnancy, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before booking.
What conditions does manual osteopathy help with? Manual osteopathy can be effective for a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, headaches, joint stiffness, sciatica, sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, postural problems, and stress-related muscle tension. Koshambi also works with patients experiencing more complex musculoskeletal issues and chronic pain that hasn’t responded well to other treatments. Because osteopathy treats the body as an interconnected whole, many patients notice improvements not just in the area they came in for, but in their general sense of comfort and mobility as well.
What should I do after my appointment to get the most out of my treatment? Both Agne and Koshambi may offer specific aftercare recommendations tailored to your session, but as a general rule, staying well hydrated after your appointment supports your body’s recovery process. It’s also a good idea to avoid strenuous activity for the remainder of the day and give your body time to integrate the work that was done. Many patients find that the effects of their treatment become even more noticeable in the day or two following their appointment, as the body continues to relax and rebalance.
