Massage Therapy for ICBC Cases

If you or your loved ones get into a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and have active ICBC claims, we have a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to assist you.

We will help you get away from the pain caused by your recent motor vehicle injury. Moreover, direct billing is available to ICBC customers who have been approved for Massage Therapy.

ICBC has made changes on April 1st, 2019 which means that if you’ve got into an MVA after that date you are entitled to preapproved treatments which include massage therapy. This also means that there’s no need for a doctor’s referral but the massage therapy session must be done within the first 12 weeks after the accident.

If you have recently been involved in a motor vehicle collision and have an active ICBC claim number, you are given 12 preapproved massage therapy sessions. This is in line with their aim of providing a customer-centric culture and giving the best care that you deserve.

In addition, we provide a comprehensive treatment plan given by our Rehab team. Yes – you are not only dealing with our Registered Massage Therapists, but we are an all-in-one rehab clinic. We have Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Kinesiologists, and Clinical Counsellors to help you get better.

As mentioned above, there are time restrictions, so you must get immediate treatments and this is also at your advantage since it can accelerate your recovery.

However, if you need additional therapy sessions or you came after the 12-week limit, ICBC will require you to present a Doctor’s referral and additional reports.

During your initial visit, our registered massage therapists will start with a thorough assessment of your injury. You may also be referred to our rehab team to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to speed up your recovery.

After the assessment, the RMT will inform you of the ideal massage therapy technique that will be applied. Technically, the massage therapy techniques applied are ideal for your condition. The RMT will also suggest exercises that you can do at home.

Our Massage therapist will determine the number of sessions you need and will inform you if you have reached the maximum level of recovery.

At Evergreen Rehab and Wellness, the initial massage therapy visit for an ICBC customer is about 60 minutes and the next sessions will be about 45 minutes.
