What Are The Common Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries?

Motor vehicle accidents can result in a wide range of injuries, varying in severity depending on the circumstances of the collision. Some of the most common motor vehicle accident injuries include:

  • Whiplash: Whiplash is a neck injury that occurs when the head is suddenly jerked backward and then forward, causing strain to the neck muscles and ligaments. It is a common injury in rear-end collisions.
  • Back and Neck Injuries: Motor vehicle accidents can cause various back and neck injuries, such as herniated discs, sprains, strains, and fractures. These injuries can lead to chronic pain and limited mobility.
  • Soft Tissue Injuries: Soft tissue injuries, including bruises, contusions, and strains, are common in motor vehicle accidents. These injuries can affect muscles, tendons, and ligaments, causing pain and discomfort.
  • Concussions and Head Trauma: Head injuries, including concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), can occur when the head strikes an object or when the brain is jolted within the skull during a collision. Symptoms may range from mild to severe and can include headaches, dizziness, confusion, and loss of consciousness.
  • Fractures and Broken Bones: Motor vehicle accidents can result in fractures and broken bones in various parts of the body, including the arms, legs, ribs, and pelvis. These injuries may require surgery and extensive rehabilitation to heal properly.
  • Internal Injuries: Blunt force trauma from a motor vehicle accident can cause internal injuries, such as organ damage, internal bleeding, and abdominal injuries. These injuries may not always be immediately apparent and require prompt medical attention.
  • Emotional Trauma: In addition to physical injuries, motor vehicle accidents can also cause emotional trauma, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other psychological effects.

It’s essential to seek medical attention after a motor vehicle accident, even if you don’t immediately notice any injuries. Some injuries may not manifest symptoms until hours or days after the accident, and early intervention can help prevent complications and promote healing.

Pretty good RMT (registered massage therapy) experience. They do direct billing to 1 provider. Location can be a bit hard to find at first. Can park in the underground parking lot. When you walk back up the parking lot ramp, Evergreen is on the right past the 504 sign.

Suji Hong, the acupuncturist, is the best I’ve ever known. I had foot injuries that lasted for a couple of months, but after receiving three sessions of needle treatments from her, the pain is gone! She is very professional and caring, and she pinpoints the exact areas where I have issues. If you are looking for a trustworthy acupuncturist in town, I would highly recommend her :)

Sarah Park is the best kinesiologist I have ever experienced. Always impressed by her superlative job of providing best solutions and delivering the immaculate sessions. It's easy to feel that she is very knowledgeable, passionate and caring. Having an amazing experience with Sarah has led me to switch from other clinic that I have been taking physio to take physio sessions at Evergreen.
