The head is one of the most common sites of pain in the body. Our headache specialist says Headache is usually accompanied with common cold, neck injury, or whiplash symptoms caused by motor vehicle injury.

Muscle tension may develop into tension headache as well. There are a lot of possible causes of headache, some are caused by underlying serious diseases, so thorough examination and assessment is essential.

Evergreen Rehab & Wellness has in-depth experience and treatment options in helping patients suffering from headache. Our treatment protocols work exceptionally well on relieving tension headache due to muscle tightness, and migraines may be caused by subluxations of cervical spine.

Understanding Headache Pains

Headaches arise when nerve endings in various parts of your head and neck become agitated. The types and causes of headaches vary widely, with some of the most common being:

  • Tension Headaches: Characterized by a dull pressure or tightness around both sides of the head and sometimes the neck, lasting from 30 minutes up to a week. They may lead to fatigue, and though the precise cause is unclear, stress is a frequent trigger.
  • Migraines: Identified by a pulsating pain on one or both sides of the head, ranging from moderate to severe and lasting from four to 72 hours. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. The exact cause is unknown, but it’s thought that environmental factors and genetics play a role. Triggers can include stress, sleep pattern changes, certain foods and additives, some medications, and hormonal changes in women.
  • Cluster Headaches: Known for sharp, intense pain that quickly arises around or behind one eye. These occur in series, or “clusters,” lasting for weeks or months, with each episode ranging from 15 minutes to three hours. Symptoms can include tearing, a runny nose, congestion, and restlessness. While the exact cause is undetermined, an anomaly in the hypothalamus may be involved. Alcohol consumption during a cluster period may exacerbate the pain.

Pretty good RMT (registered massage therapy) experience. They do direct billing to 1 provider. Location can be a bit hard to find at first. Can park in the underground parking lot. When you walk back up the parking lot ramp, Evergreen is on the right past the 504 sign.

Suji Hong, the acupuncturist, is the best I’ve ever known. I had foot injuries that lasted for a couple of months, but after receiving three sessions of needle treatments from her, the pain is gone! She is very professional and caring, and she pinpoints the exact areas where I have issues. If you are looking for a trustworthy acupuncturist in town, I would highly recommend her :)

Sarah Park is the best kinesiologist I have ever experienced. Always impressed by her superlative job of providing best solutions and delivering the immaculate sessions. It's easy to feel that she is very knowledgeable, passionate and caring. Having an amazing experience with Sarah has led me to switch from other clinic that I have been taking physio to take physio sessions at Evergreen.
