Massage therapy in Surrey and Coquitlam offers multiple holistic, physical, and mental benefits. It can help clients of many different ages or levels of fitness. Ultimately, we tailor our massage therapy plans based on the unique needs of the individual.
We will then put together a structured treatment plan based on the nature and severity of your condition(s). The plan can schedule treatments in close succession, to speed up rehabilitation and avoid recurrence of the condition.
After your initial consultation, your massage therapy treatment will begin. The types of massage techniques used by the massage therapist will depend on the nature of the condition that is confirmed in the interview process.
During a Swedish massage, an RMT will apply massage oil or lotion and will use various types of strokes such as long strokes, passive joint movements, deep circular movements and kneading. These strokes can help in warming up the muscle tissue to release tension and will break up the adhesions or the muscle knots.
It involves the whole body. The Swedish massage begins at your back or your stomach. But if you want a particular area to be concerned like a tight neck then ask your therapist so that he can spend more time on that area. Moreover, you can ask for the desired pressure.
If you have some questions about this technique to our RMTs, you may contact us.
Deep tissue massage can give you some discomfort because pressure and slow strokes are the demand of deep tissue massage therapy. So, be ready for a little amount of discomfort.
After your deep tissue massage session, you may feel some muscle soreness but you don’t need to worry about it. Muscle soreness will go away in a couple of days and you will feel the effectiveness of the massage.
The massage therapist may ask you about the intensity and frequency of the treatment which will maximize the benefits to your body.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water after your massage sessions because a deep tissue massage causes the muscles to release toxins. So, if you didn’t drink water after your massage session the toxins can affect your kidney.
You may feel a change of color in the body may be slightly pinkish, which is directly related to an increase in blood flow. As the pressure and slow stroke will be applied to your body, so you may feel soreness after the massage, don’t be surprised, it’s only for two to three days and then you will feel more relaxed.
You will also feel an increase in mobility at certain joints and muscles that you didn’t previously have. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water after the session and it will also be suggested by your therapist. To get the proper benefits of MLD you need to stay hydrated. You may need to pee more and it will happen because your lymph is moving efficiently.
To get started, you need to provide our receptionist or one of our staff with your active ICBC claim number, your name, and your date of birth. You may also refer to our ICBC page for further details.
