Jacky is an Interim Physiotherapist at Evergreen Rehab & Wellness in Coquitlam. Born and raised in BC, he obtained his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at the University of British Columbia in 2015. During his studies, Jacky served as one of the head coaches of the UBC Weightlifting & Powerlifting club – providing training and education to students looking to engage in recreational fitness and improve their physical activity levels. After gaining valuable experience working as a Kinesiologist, he decided to move across the pond to complete his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, graduating with distinction. Additionally, Jacky is able to provide physiotherapy services in both English and Cantonese.
Jacky employs a holistic style of treatment, combining manual therapy, movement re-education and individualized exercise prescription to reduce pain and correct dysfunction. Having suffered a significant back injury in the past, Jacky has a specialised clinical interest in the treatment and management of lower back pain conditions. He has taken additional courses to further enhance his knowledge in this area of musculoskeletal practice, in addition to sport-specific ankle rehabilitation and the understanding of pain science. Jacky is currently pursuing additional education to complete his Diploma in Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy.
Outside of work, you can find Jacky exploring the outdoors, traveling to new destinations and staying active in the gym. He is also an avid sports fan, cheering for his local Vancouver Canucks and is a regular participant of fantasy sports.
